How do you hide?

Konstfack, 2010

How do you hide? is a sculpture made from sheets of paper printed with thermochromic ink. Beneath the dark surface is a colourful camouflage pattern.

Each sheet is connected to electricity. When activated, the temperature of the paper changes and the dark surface disappears, revealing the pattern underneath.

The work approaches the paper as a simple changing display. The work looks at concealment through a surface that can hide and reveal different appearances.

How do you hide? was developed as part of Scale of Existence, Farvash’s MFA degree project at Konstfack in 2010.
