Farvash

NeoFahimeh

Norrköpings Konstmuseum, Norrköping, 2023

NeoFahimeh is a performance made while Farvash was pregnant with their first child. During the performance, Farvash carries soil from a compost and feeds it into a machine, which moves in a continuous circle, leaving a trace in the ground.

The intention of the performance is to bless the soil, bless the past and make it into a mark for the future. After the performance, the soil is carried in a procession and used to plant seeds and grow grain.

The title NeoFahimeh refers to Farvash’s mother, Fahimeh.

The performance was created in 2023 for Paviljong #2: Jord, part of Åsa Jungnelius’s Den inre världsutställningen at Norrköpings Konstmuseum. Farvash was invited by Jungnelius together with Markus Vallien to create works around jord(en) — earth, soil and the Earth.
